你所不知道的以色列

你對以色列這個國家有著什麼印象？ 戰亂不斷、嚴肅神秘、宗教聖地？恐怕對這個國家的印象多來自媒體報導或人云亦云，其實我自己也差不多如此。
在我的印象中這個國家好像有打不完的仗、捍衛不完的民族自尊，圍繞在以色列周遭的埃及、伊拉克、約旦、敘利亞、以及黎巴嫩，哪一個沒有跟它用槍枝砲彈交手過，而這樣不平靜的國度卻是中東地區唯一一個自由民主制國家，更令人驚訝的是它在的經濟、商業、新聞傳媒的發展，非但沒有受到戰火的影響仍可表現卓越，國民更有著極高素質，使得以色列人在全世界各個角落都有令人讚嘆的成就。
這個謎樣般的國家適逢建國以來的60週年生日，北美館在眾多機緣巧合下籌備了以「國家的誕生」為主題的展覽，向大家介紹媒體報導之外的以色列面貌，透過享譽國際的攝影、設計大師保羅‧高曼、大衛‧羅賓和丹‧雷辛格，從他們眾多的作品中一窺以色列國度的風情和才情，今天節目中為大家邀請到策劃此展的北美館展覽組組長 張芳薇小姐，來告訴大家展覽的精采之處，還有以色列人為何令人佩服與感動之處。

As I looked closer at the history and conflicts between Palestinians and Israel, or Arab countries and Israel, I found one thing very interesting: most of the time, the wars/conflicts/fights were started by the Palestinians or Arab countries, and Israel was only trying to protect and defend its own people! They never fought to kill, but to defend. And yet, I found the motive that most Arab countries and Palestinians has for Israel was simply to wipe out this state and its people even when they mocked like seeking for peace! Please look closer at the history! Don't judge by the appearanceof incidents!
Mr. Tinn said: "Taiwan has much more in common with the state of Palestine, which suffers from the systemic oppression of the Israeli Regime - much like how Taiwan has to take the systemic abuse from the Chinese Government." In fact, it is a mistake to compare cross-strain politics to Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Taiwan is not in a occupied territories, but Palestine is. Israeli troops can enter the West Bank and Gaza for security reason, but Chinese ones can not do this without Taiwanese independence. The present Tibetan unrest can be better than Taiwanese struggle to draw a parallel with Palestinian sufferings.
以色列擁有生存的權利,那巴勒斯坦人呢? 若非英美等國在背後的大力支持,以色列是否真能憑己力在此區生存? 若非因為宗教上的偏執,中東地區又何致如此的動盪不安? 以色列人是否也該自我反省? 也替巴勒斯坦人發發聲吧!!!
PLEASE!!! Let's not glorify Israel this way. Let's take a look at the actual cost of this prosperity we see on the surface level - their systemic abuses on the Palestinians populations which includes militarised regulation and destruction of the thousands of homes of the Palestinians, most of which, of course, escape the attention of most mass media. Let's not miseducate Taiwanese people this way. Taiwan has much more in common with the state of Palestine, which suffers from the systemic oppression of the Israeli Regime - much like how Taiwan has to take the systemic abuse from the Chinese Government. The Israel we need to know is the violence it does on the Palestinians - calling them "terrorists while the Israelis themselves commit even more destructions on daily basis.
